Biotin is the conjugate of choice if the antibody is going to be used in a variety of applications. Biotin is a small molecule that has little effect on an antibody's immunoreactivity. Its small size makes biotin an excellent tag for your antibody in most techniques. Biotin binds tightly to avidin or streptavidin, which are available enzyme conjugated, making your biotinylated antibody useful in most immunological procedures.

The disadvantage of a biotinylated antibody over an enzyme or fluorescent conjugated antibody is that there is an additional step involved in your assay.

Enzyme: AKP and HRP

Enzyme conjugates give a highly selective and sensitive immuno-reagent. By directly labelling your primary antibody you can eliminate steps of washing comparing with using indirect method.

Llkaline Phosphatase (AKP) and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is a stable enzyme suitable for ELISA, Western Blot and immunocytochemistry. HRP has low endogenous activity and a high turnover rate, producing it's coloured end product in a short time period.

Fluorescent Markers
Fluorescent probes are commonly used in multiple probe assays, immunofluorescence micrioscopy and flow cytometry. GeneMay's technical staff has extensive experience working on many different antibody or protein conjugation.

A minimum quantity of 1mg of antibody is required for Biotin,Cy3 and Cy5 conjugations.
A minimum quantity of 2mg of antibody is required for Streptavidin, AKP, HRP, PE, PE-Cy5, FITC, APC and Rodamine conjugations.
